Lyden Lys is a knowledge-based metroidvania set in a world filled with secrets and touching stories. You are a descendant of a once-flourishing people, but your homeland is fading – and in its final moments, you must uncover the truth about the past, the world, and yourself.

FAQ

• Is this a finished game? In short: it's a demo version with its own complete story. To elaborate: we wanted to introduce players to our game, so we created a prologue to the main story.
• So the prologue means the story just cuts off? It's a self-contained, complete story that hints at a continuation. Our goal was to give players a full narrative experience, independent of the main game. You'll be able to play the prologue or the main game separately, one complements the other. Yes, a continuation is certainly planned, but the prologue plays like a finished work with its own complete narrative idea.
• Gameplay-wise, does it differ from the main game? In the main game, of course, there will be many more locations, puzzles, and possibilities. In the prologue, you have access to 3 out of 16 (planned) melodies. The prologue's main purpose is to convey the narrative and sensory experience, and to let players know what to expect from the full game.
• Should I play it? Everyone, of course, decides for themselves, but if you're unsure, we'd love to help. If you've enjoyed games like Seiklus, Knytt, Animal Well, Iconoclasts, you might enjoy ours too. We're in no way comparing ourselves to these masterpieces of the industry, we're simply trying to point you in a direction. If you like sad, slightly ironic stories, if you're charmed by 2D open spaces and music inspired by the Dreamcast and PS1 eras and Britpop, then you might give our game a chance.
